Why We Use Semi-Private Personal Training

There’s a sweet spot in fitness that most people don’t even know they’re looking for, until they find it.

At Core, we call that sweet spot semi-private personal training. And it’s not just a trendy format or a convenient middle ground. It’s an intentional approach that gives you the best of both worlds — the personalized care of one-on-one training and the energy and support of a small, tight-knit group.

One-on-one training has its benefits. You get a coach’s full attention, a program built specifically for you, and individualized support. But it can also feel a bit intense, maybe even isolating at times.

On the flip side, group fitness is fun and social, but it’s usually one-size-fits-all. Everyone’s doing the same workout, regardless of your body, your injury history, or your goals.

That’s where semi-private personal training shines. You still get a fully personalized program that’s written for your unique needs and goals, but you’re not going through it alone. You’re in a shared space with a few others, all working through their own individualized workouts, with a coach right there guiding you through every movement.

It’s the best of both worlds: personal attention while still getting that strong sense of community.

And here’s the thing — we’re not just throwing together random workouts to keep you moving or make you sweat. Everything we do at Core is intentional.

We build training programs, not just workouts. There’s a reason behind every set, every rep, and every exercise we ask you to do. Our job isn’t to fill an hour — it’s to get you to your goals as efficiently and sustainably as possible.

Life happens. Maybe you’re dealing with an old injury. Maybe you’re getting ready for a ski trip. Maybe you just want to keep up with your kids or grandkids without pain or limitations. Whatever your goals are, your program should reflect that. It should adjust when life does. It should meet you where you are and move you forward — not burn you out.

Fitness shouldn’t burn you out. It shouldn’t leave you injured. And it shouldn’t be something you dread.

Your training should make you feel stronger, more energized, and leave you feeling better when you walk out than when you walked in.

We design every program with longevity in mind. That means balancing stress and recovery, avoiding overtraining, and building strength that actually carries over into your everyday life. We want you to feel strong, move well, and stay active for years to come. And we want it to be sustainable.

This isn’t about hitting a 30-day goal. It’s about showing up consistently and making progress that sticks.

That’s why so many of our members have stuck with Core for 5, 10, even 20 years. Because they know this model works. They know they’re supported. They know they’re not just a number. And they’ve found something more than just a workout. They’ve found a community.

If you’re tired of bouncing between extremes, high-intensity classes that leave you burnt out, or solo gym sessions that feel directionless, maybe it’s time for something different. Something more thoughtful. More personalized. More sustainable.

That’s what we do here. And we’d love to help you build a plan that works for the long haul.
