The second inductee into Penny’s Lift Club is Kelli.
And she earned it with a new all-time Core wall sit record:
8 minutes and 34 seconds.
That number is impressive on its own.
But the story behind it makes it even better.
Kelli was doing the wall sit alongside her husband, Pete, who happened to be the previous record holder. They started together, pushed through the discomfort together, and kept each other going minute after minute.
Then Pete dropped.
And Kelli kept going.
But the funny thing is, she didn’t walk into the gym that day planning to break a record. She was just going to hold the wall sit for a few minutes and see how it felt.
But as the time kept climbing, it was clear she had more in her.
She was steady. She was strong. She wasn’t fading.
So we kept encouraging her.
Another 30 seconds.
Get to the next minute.
Then another.
Before long, the record was within reach.
And she went and got it.
That’s one of the best parts about training in a place like Core. Sometimes you don’t know what you’re capable of until the people around you help you see it.
A coach encouraging you to keep going.
A spouse or friend pushing beside you.
A community that gets behind you.
That kind of environment matters.
And Kelli’s wall sit is a perfect example of it.
Penny’s Lift Club was created to recognize outstanding achievements in the gym. Sometimes that means a big lift. Sometimes it means hitting a high-level strength benchmark. Sometimes it means years of consistency.
And sometimes, it means holding a wall sit longer than anyone in Core history.
Kelli didn’t just set a record.
She showed what can happen when strength, mindset, and community all come together.
Congratulations, Kelli!
Welcome to Penny’s Lift Club.
