The First Member of Penny's Lift Club: Mike

Mike joined Core about five years ago with very little gym experience.


Like a lot of people, he didn’t come in with much training background. But over time, he developed strong deadlift technique and set a clear goal for himself: get stronger in that movement.


When he first deadlifted 225 lbs, he said he wanted to get to 400.


When he hit 400, the goal shifted again: to lift 500.


At that point, I told him that if he pulled 500, we’d need a new trap bar just to hold the weight.

Well… he did it.


And I had to buy a new, longer trap bar.


It’s one of my favorite purchases we’ve made, not because of the equipment itself, but because of what it represents. The consistency, the commitment, and the steady progress that led up to that moment.


That’s exactly what Penny’s Lift Club is all about.


Recognizing the work that happens over time. The goals that evolve. The effort that builds into something bigger.
